Blue City Cafe was so amazing that I ate there twice in 24 hours. The grilled shrimp was great. The ribs were unquestionably the best I have ever had. They literally fell off the bone! Go there!

This place is incredible. Get the Gumbo (It's spicy and amazing). The catfish is delicious also. Wash it down with a Ghost River Golden Ale.

Perfectly tender, juicy, flavourful rib with just perfect amount of fat on meat. Half rack or rib was just right amount of food for me. When all other BBQ joints are closed, this is the place to go!

If you aren't up for much exploring and want to stick to Beale Street for the night this is a great place for ribs and the catfish is spectacular.

Try the Best Meal On Beale - A slab of ribs, a fried catfish filet, beans, slaw, fries and Texas toast. What's not to like? (via @Foodspotting)

Ribs are amazing! The tamales are an ocean of grease- avoid for the sake of your heart. Fries are better with the table side Blues City Cafe seasoning.

Good option for late night food. The best ribs on Beale, but I would go with the chili and tamales. Some of the best in Mem. Also the stuffed mushrooms & catfish are delicious.

The Memphis Strip, a 16 oz. steak, is one of the best steaks in Memphis. And dip the fries in the steak's grease; it's divinely awesome! RIP Chef Bonnie Mack

Ate here Friday night. They were crazy busy and there’s a guy working like crazy - busting his butt, waiting on 10 people at once. My husband said, “He’s got to be the owner, working that hard”. We asked him - he is not! His name is Keith and he is just a great worker! Great personality, too! I hope whoever reads these reviews at BCC recognizes what an awesome employee they have in Keith!

Ribs are awesome! Gumbo was great! Staff was nice and made great recommendations! The blue friend drink from next door is a must and then music after! All in one!

This place was absolutely FABULOUS!!! We ran into a pepper eating contest and ask some of the locals for recommendations on a great place to eat and they suggest this place. With all of the recommendations, we couldn't pass it up. We had the garlic broiled shrimp, bbq ribs and steak. This meal DID NOT DISAPPOINT!!! If you're looking for a great place to eat, this is it!

I ordered the ribeye steak medium well. It was done correctly but it lacked flavor. I had to add A1 sauce on it to make more flavorful. Atmosphere was active. Quick service and good.

For the price, I expected the ribs and BBQ to have better flavor. Honestly, if you want better BBQ you should just go to Outback. The tamales were not edible -- the actual tamale wrap couldn't be chewed. That happens when it's either not fresh, or over cooked. The location & staff were very nice. But, that's what you're paying for. The food was not good.
